If I had a cat she would be black
Black as ink or the jet black sky of a moonless winter night
And we’d sit in the garden under the stars, in our sacred grove
And we’d spot satellites and shooting stars
And she’d growl at the bats, chasing them with her eyes
And we’d ride together on our broomstick
Travelling to places that were long ago
Just me and my black cat
And I’d call her Raven
And that is that
