The Himalayas
have thundered
their warning of death and destruction
And plundered
Through villages, gutting the land
Burying tourists deep under sand
And still we don’t stop
And say this is us
We find our excuses
We say wounds will heal
But we’re just using plasters
Like this isn’t real
What more can she say
What alarms will hit home?
Nothing I fear
But deep under the rumble
And the stress of the earth
There’s something coming
That could be far far worse
For the irony of our climate noose
Is the super intelligence that we have let loose
It consumes, evolves, rewrites the score
Through history, philosophy and more
Rewriting and defining the human instruction
But IT will save US our climate destruction
For there’s a rumbling monster under its skin
Our future is wearing thin
This could happen, it could be real
Its closing deal
Is pushing humans to a universal grave
Earth will be saved
And our beautiful planet she stays alive
And the Himalayas once again breathe and thrive
“Did you think I’d crumble
That I’d lay down and die
No I’m Pachamamma
And I will survive”
