Leighton Moss

Droplets resting gently on the leaves

Clinging effortlessly and twinkling in the sun

Bitterns boom like a distant drum

Gulls squabble as they build their nests

Swallows swoop and wind through the skies

Fast and furiously fetching flies

It’s mesmerising to share this space

And as dusk approaches the warblers throng

To fill the reeds fill with rhythmic song
