For I am old and wise
Years of life I’ve seen
Nurtured my precious children
And natures finest green
Imagined a life around nature
My garden a haven for bees
With pollinator flowers
And wonderful life giving trees
What is my sense of purpose?
My mission in this world
Have I drifted from a career of healing
To a desire to save the world
To protect our Pachamama
Our dearest Mother Earth
To hold her very tightly
For she is our very worth
Her beauty is unbounded
I listen to the sounds
Of birds singing in the hedgerows
And worms exploring underground
As the seasons change
And the sun sets too soon
And tides ebb and flow
I’m in tune with the moon
What more do I want?
Love for each other
Make love not war
Look after your brother
Close your eyes
Sit under a tree
And imagine a life
Where you are set free
To worship the air we breathe
The soil beneath our feet
And see our magical existence
