Not allowed to speak out

To ask why

To sit down near a railing

Holding a sign

I can’t criticise Israel

For that would be seen

As being anti Jew

Anti you

What Hamas did was utterly apalling 

Innocent people killed without warning

Sons and daughters

Brothers and sisters

Mothers and fathers

No words

About it

Let me

Shout it

It was a massacre

Retaliate, yes

Wars have been started on less

But it’s Hamas to take out

Not ordinary lives

People like me and you

Trying to survive

Some hoping to die

Supporting those people

Defending their rights

That’s what I want to do

With my banner in sight

I’m not anti Jewish

Far from it in fact

But I’m anti injustice

And I just want to say that
