A Shoreham swim

Bracing wind and cloudy skies

Violent choppy seas

Deserted beach with seaweed strewn

Will you swim with me?

We crash through breakers 5 foot tall

Bob up and down the frothy sea

We soak the sun upon our face

And laugh and whoop in glee

I’m in a wonderous happy place

With friends swimming in the sea

I feel exhilaration

An uplifted sense of me

I pause to view the sun kissed beach

Relentless crashing waves

I hold this feeling, warmth and smile

And wonder if I’m brave
