Yule

Night unfurls

As the wind swirls

Creaking like an old spring

As the birds sing

Sleepily like a musical note

As the trees rustle

restlessly like an old worn coat

As the raindrops beat upon the ground

As the waves crash all around

Like a giant calling from a hillside place

We are standing in this space

As darkness steals into the day

Like thousands of starlings

Descending our way

We stand here together in natures calm

Feeling our breath, arm in arm

As new moon heralds growth, hope and power

And daylight grows like a bud into flower

And days lengthen

Our selves strengthen

As we start to wake from our winters sleep

Sharing energy with ancestors in the deep

Come round you Selkie, join the Fae

As now night equals day

Come dance long into the night

Welcoming the growing light
