Haikus

End Feb

Awake and alive

I wallow in my cold plunge

The joy of birdsong

Sauna heats my bones

Shimmering sun on the sea

Face smile fixed on me

Frost on the roof tops

New moon rise on sunny hills

Cold water holds me

March

Bright sunshine crisp frost

A whole new world of colours

Farewell cataract

Whispering wingbeat

Shapeshifting through the sunset

Murmurating joy (second for the day!)

The Wheatear are back

Well the first was seen today

Happy happy day

A sunset challenge

Looking for a Little Owl

in a big oak tree

Hedge busy with birds

Frosty mornings Sunny days

Spring is on its way

Past fields and woodland

City skyscapes  from the train

More blue sky again

Sitting in the cold tub

Serenaded by song thrush

Woodpecker drumming

One tree on a hill

Still misty calm by the lake

Keswick in it’s charm

I salute the sun

Feel earths energy in me

A circle of life

My heart full of joy

Floating calm under the sun

Mountain reflections

Spring warmth holds me close

Primroses in the church yard

Blossom on the trees

Birds greet the morning

Horses rolling in the dust

Trees and hedge in bud

On the train again

Glimpse of nature as we pass

Birds starting their nests

Tranquil views and calm

Energising sauna  heat

Restful cooling dip

A thick morning mist

Hides even all the shadows

Steels the moon’s eclipse

Full worm moon rising

Crystal clear cold water pool

Shared joy with strangers

(Same day)

Skylock song in flight

Dark clouds reflected in the sea

Cold northerly wind

Blossom on the trees

Dappled sun providing shade

Yellow daffodils

Birds in the beech hedge

Flirting busy building nests

Spring ‘s ready for love

Calm serenity

Nature surrounds us with joy

Sun warming our hearts

A warm sunny day

Birds singing and flowers bloom

A Mad March feeling

A calm shingly beach

Celebrate the equinox

Enveloped by waves

Street trees flowering

Magnolia and cherry

Oh the joy of spring

Birds sing around us

Finding home for the summer

Attracting a mate

The rain left puddles

So we jumped and splashed in them

Puddle jumping fun

Home to the beech hedge

And the garden waking up

Life bulging tree buds

Sauna in the woods

Birds busy in the tree tops

Feel grounded and calm

Looking for Wheatear

Yellow hammer in the hedge

Kestrel sits above

Lambs bleat in the fields

Skylark sing high in the sky

March al fresco lunch

Veggie seed planting

Preparing the land for spring

Breathe joy from fresh air

Peaceful solitude

Joy from teeny tiny lambs

Happy in the world

Busy frothy sea

Rocking and rolling with me

Natures calming balm

Blue sky and flat sea

Warm sauna nourishing me

Relaxing with friends

April

Cold wind happy smiles

Frolicking with Swimming friends

Under the blue sky

Gorgeous morning light

Sun rising above the Downs

Horses just mooching

Plunge in the morning

Garden delighting in sun

April full of joy

Sauna on the beach

Free as the crest of the waves

Splashing in the sea

Summer sun is out

Gardens  burst with happy kids

Rest in the hammock

Birthday celebrate

Family sharing caring

Love binds us closely

Here I am again

Blue sky and a gentle sea

Thrumming swan wing beats

Birdsong surrounds us

Small newborn lambs fill the fields

Full of joy of spring

Spring awakening

Frosty nights and sunny days

Tiny shoots of spring

So pretty in pink

In the blissdom of the beach

Sauna hot sea cold

Sunny day again

Runner beans growing too fast

Beech hedge is budding

Runner beans are out

Hoping chance of frost has passed

Warm spring sun again

Gardening is springing

Full of the joys of summer

Well still cold at night

The nights are warmer

The sea clear as crystal glass

The moon is waning

At last we’ve had rain

Not as much as rain in Spain

Everything‘s gone green

Birds arriving fast

Warbling wars in the reed beds

Blown on the south wind

Listen to the waves

Welcome the sun on the stones

Float with their rhythm

Skylark in full voice

Whitethroat scratching in the hedge

And in that one too
