15 days of lockdown 2

“Mist charging up the valley floor

Cattle grazing on the Combe

Goldfinch flocking in the fading light

and a Raven cackling doom”

“Warm sun, near cloudless sky

Splendid Autumn trees

Flocking birds and butterfly

And shimmering glistening sea”

“A cacophony of sparrows

A castle in the haze

Company at the market

Friendship in the waves”

“Walking through the falling leaves

We remember heroes of war

Standing in silence, apart from the birds

A lot to be thankful for”

“Dismal grey and cloudy sky

Rain pelting on the rolling sea

Crashing waves and rattling stones

Nowhere else I’d rather be”

“Horses gallop in unbridled joy

I walk slowly up the hill

The morning mist has crept away

The world is calm and still”

“Pink and lilac fill the sky

The beach is mauve and dim

But bright the light that starts the day

Sun rises as we swim”

“Two cormorants sit upon a post

Sheltering in the harbour lee

We both swim out to join them

Avoiding the wild windy sea”

“Another enchanting November day

The Sun is warm and bright

The stonechats amuse us with their play

And autumn colours delight”

“River swim and birthday treats

Grandsons’ smiles and waving

I feel wrapped up in  lots of love

But it’s hugs I’m really craving”

“Footsteps climbing up the river bank

Absent birds I know not where

Dappled sunshine through autumn leaves

A sense of storm is in the air”

“Too murky to swim

After yesterday’s storm

The sea’s wild and relentless

But the beach feels calm”

“We walk high upon the Downs

Under wide and open skies

And then I swim in Shoreham harbour

With big ships passing by”

“Robin in the hedgerow

Meeting Robin on the path

A fluffy baby  Robin

Making Robin laugh”

“I am grateful to this earth

As sun rises to light the sea

That on this cold and frosty morning
