Samhain

The air bright and crisp

Sun warming and bright

Blue sky with seldom cloud

Like a perfect spring day

But the Fungi disguising themselves as leaves

Forming garlands around the trees

The Autumn colours carpeting the beech wood floor

Tell the story of another season

Leaves rustle and fallen cobnuts crackle

under my feet

Birds call and tap on empty bark

And. As I breathe

I feel autumn

Gone is Samhain (SOW-in) and the final harvest

I feel cherished by the trees

Enchanted by the birdsong

Time to embrace the darker half of the year

As I look forward to winter and the sleepiness it brings to the wood
